Education @ Florida's Gulfarium
Since its earliest days in the 1950's, education has always been a part of Gulfarium's mission. In 1994, founder Brandy Siebenaler expanded the educational reach of the aquarium by authorizing the creation of the Education Department. Our first splash into education was summer camp. Our camp has slowly grown and gotten better over the years, and so has the Education Department. Current programs include camps, marine science classes, public/home school science programs, lectures, seminars, professional development, and special events.

Aquatic Summer Camp 2007

Swimming, catching fish, touching a dolphin... since 1994 Gulfarium’s Aquatic Summer Camp has been introducing kids to the wonders of our watery world. Past activities have included aquarium-keeping, snorkeling, swimming, mucking about in a marsh for animals, learning what it’s like to work at an aquarium, a walk on the pier, and much more. Two of the kids’ favorites are the treasure hunt and “Wet Potato”. It’s five days of wet and watery fun!*
